Message From what I understand...the purpose of the offset is to make the piston quieter. However, running no offset will make more power because there are less side loads on the skirts.

I am probably going to go with a custom piston that is manufactured by Wiseco. Ever heard of Roller-wave pistons? Search google on them...interesting stuff. We have the guy designing a set to work with the VG. Maybe I'll request a longer skirt. My piston of choice would be Arias, but they are very expensive. You can run clearances as tight as 2 thou and not have any problems.

MikeH measured his Wiseco's offset and came up with .040...this agrees with what I have been told. My machinist uses Wiseco almost exclusively, and has never had any problems with noise. However, he hasn't had a lot of experience with VG's, so who knows.
